The new plan for filming.

Hello my fellow readers. Today we will be talking about the new filming plan. We did not know if we were filming separately or not. But today we will be talking about the plan for if we are able to get together. First, we will be taking the safety precaution. Everyone will be required to wear masks as we film. The only exception will be for those who are on camera. Secondly we are planning on filming either Sunday January 3 or Sunday January 10th. This is all depending on when everyone will be available. We will be filming from the morning all the way into the night. So this will probably be 9 in the morning to 6 at night. We wont be filming in order of the shots. We will be filming in order of the time of day. So the first shot we will film will be the onethat is the girl coming down the stairs first thing in the morning as they are going to work. Then we will film the scene getting into the car. We will change locations to outside and film the part where the girl collapse and goes to the hospital. Then we will film all the rest of the scenes as the light goes by in the day. Finally when its dark outside we will film the first. This one takes place in the middle of the night at the dining room table and needs to be shot when its dark outside.

Plan B

Hello my fellow readers. last time we spoke I told you about how me and my partner had some troubles with filming for our first time. we had trouble filming for the first time, because we were both exposed to somebody with covid-19 . We were super worried about the health and safety of everybody that was going to be in the movie so we stayed isolated for the required 2 weeks. We have also been tested twice. we are both clear to see each other and others. Because we could not film for the first time we had to create a Plan B. We spoke on the phone I put lots of ideas out and thought into it. Having a backup plan it's super important especially when things are this serious. We spent time learning more editing techniques incase any other issues occur. We did this because With good enough editing skills we could film apart an edit together the parts to make it seem like we were actually filming in the same place. Currently we are very familiar and know how to use I movie and other editing techniques such as pinnacle. If possible and if it is a must we will plan to film a part. This prevents as much contact as possible so nobody can get sick. Certain scenes that only require shots of the background are going to be done by ourselves and have previously been shot. Sheet scenes that require one person will be shot individually as well. Once it is safe to go outside and safe in our own homes we can film together. But the whole time we will be wearing masks when possible. And social distance as much as we can. Both me and my partner are persistent and dedicated to completing this film in our best efforts with the best safety in mine thanks for reading .

props and items

Hello my fellow’s readers!! Today we will be going in depth to the props that we will be using. We have added more props since being quarantine. So, in the end even though we couldn’t film on the day we wanted. We were able to find out ways to make our production better. I will be telling you all the props and all the items that will be in the camera for the movie. For the first scene we will be in the dining room. There will be one table and eight chairs. We will be sitting in two of the chairs across from each other. Both of us will have a laptop and notebooks and pencils. The second scene wont really have any different props you will just see them carry those props upstairs. The next scene will be the next morning right when they are getting ready for work. They will come down the stairs at different times. But they will both have bags and shoes in their hands. Then they will walk out the door and the props will add one. So, the add ones will be the car and the car keys. Then when they get to the lab and sneak the girl in. the props will be cups, lab coats, lab googles and notebooks and computers. Then they will get the hospital. The props there will the hospital bed and a heart monitor. Then when they leave, they will have a bags and be carried out by the fbi agent. Finally they will end the scene with suit cases and bags leaving their families.

Film Day one fail

Hello my fellow readers!! Today was a complete FAIL!! Today has been one of the ost stressful days ever. Sadly today was supposed ti be our first day of filming all together will all the cast here and it aslll went down hill from this moring. At 10 o'clock this morning we were supposed to all meet at my house for the first day of filming and probably the last if all went well. We planned thiws for about two weeks in advanced and corona once again ruined things. Not one but both me and my partner came in contact with people who had been diagnosed with covid. We have both been in isolation for about a week and a half and both have gotten tested once. For about the the last week and a half we have been correcting and perfecting our coustumes and our acting. We have about three dayas more in quarntine. After this three day period we will be getting tested once again and then replanning a date to film and have the final product done. Crossing our fingers that neither of us have covid because that could be really bad and leave us falling behind on our schedule for filming and editing. Hopefully with this extra time we have got from winter break we will not have to re shoot. BUt it still might happen because not everything is perfect the first time. But anyways we have gone through and properly given our characters some defined details. Like fro example we planned out what our charcaters would wear and kinda got outfits ready for them. Also we practiced how they would sound and how they will react facially and how we will put emtion into it. So far we arent to far behind our schedule adn we should catch up oretty fast. It was really sad that we couldnt film and we couldnt edit out final or final product. But we will soon and when we do it will be amazing and go super smooth.

Settings

Good morning my fellow readers I’m back at it again. Today discussion will be the CLAMPS. Though we will be focusing on the S= setting. I will be going through the scenes and telling you where it will be filmed. First things first everything will be filmed at one house which will be easier but still bring a little bit of complications. The reason I say it's easy is because we won't have to bring the whole cast to different locations and take up more time in the day that we don't really have. The complications that I say will be trying to make it look like a different place when really it's the same place. But with all the scenes it will all be filmed in a different room. None of the scenes will ever cross paths or be filmed in the same area. For the first scene it will be filmed in the dining room and it will be the two characters facing each other parallel to the camera. The next scene will be the girls walking up the stairs also parallel to the camera Fading into a black screen. The next scene will be filmed perpendicular to the right of the staircase and the camera will be parallel to the door. The girls will come down the stairs and the camera will back up as the girls walk forward. For the next scene it will be shot upstairs in an all white room with one desk in the center over wall an one chair on one side and another chair on the other side for the two girls just. In that same room there will be two coatracks with 2 lab coats and two pairs of goggles. In the next scene we will be in the garage with one pull outbed acting as a Gurney in a hospital. There will be a white sheet up to make it look like a completely white room. The next scene will be filmed outside of the garage with the camera pulling back as FBI agent rushes the girls into a car. The camera will be on the dashboard of the car then and the FBI agent will be talking to the girls and the girls will be talking to the FBI agent about what's going on. Finally the girls will be outside of the house saying goodbye to their family and that will fade into a black screen at the end. this is all the scenes and props with the setting .

costumes

Good morning my fellow readers I’m back at it again. Today discussion will be the CLAMPS. Though we will be focusing on the C=costumes. Always fun to talk about costumes, because you get to be anyone you want to be when you get all dressed up. In our case we are trying to be just like our characters. We want to try and express their personality through their clothing. Both of our characters are particularly more on the fancy/ professional style just because on is a scientist and one is a journalist. So, they work in places where they are supposed to be dressed a little nicer than usual. Even though the journalist is a little bit more casual she is still professional. Like she would not be in ripped jeans and a tank top. She would wear something like black pants and a nice white or black shirt. The scientist would wear a nice shirt with work pants and maybe a pair of boots just so she does not slip in the lab. I think trying to express what the characters would wear is super important to character development. You really get into the character and look and speak like them like this. Now for our first scene we will be wearing more casual clothes because we will be in our home doing work at our table. So, it will be like pjs and kind of messy hair, yet still looking put together enough where it doesn’t look to bad for camera. Then the next scene when we wake up to go to the we will be dressed in nice clothing with our hair done and very professional looking to go into work with. Then when they get to the lab they will add on lab coats and goggles to complete the scientist look. Finally For the rest of the show they will look a little beat up and messy from being pushed around by the fbi agent but they will still be in their work clothing.

websites

good afternoon my fellow readers. We started our website page for our movie! One of the best experiences I had for a while. It was super exciting to start up our website it was almost like we were a part of a real cast making it. It was really hard for us to start it up but we once we got started it got to be easier. There were so many designs to choose from and so many ideas to work with that it took us a little while to pick which one would work for us the best. Now it might sound simple to just create a website for movie but trust me it is not. We struggled a lot with getting the perfect backgrounds and inserting our links for our social medias. For some reason when we would try to put in our links it wouldn't allow us to click them. But if it did allow us to click them it would take us to a different page that wasn't our page. We were trying to insert the link into a little icon so it would be clean on our website. But sadly, that was not working so we just had to paste our link with the title of either YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and our email. It upset us for a while because it wasn't as clean as we wanted it to be. To us it looked a little bit messy and we really really tried to get the icon link to work but it just wouldn't. So, as they say in showbiz the show must go on, we worked with what we had, and we made a beautiful website that all of our readers could go and see. This was quite the learning experience as you may see, and it was definitely not an easy task to do. But it was an extremely important lesson to learn and now both I and my partner have the skill to make a website. I feel like not only was this a good lesson for this class, but it was a good lesson in general, because now we know how to be more professional and create eyecatching websites that could benefit us in the future. It’s kind of shows how this class isn't just about media but it's about so much more and all of this goes could help us in the future no matter what career path we take. But the funnest part of all of this was going through everybody elses websites and seeing how cool and different everybody was, see you in the next blog.

Social media

Good afternoon my readers!! We started up our social media accounts. But even before our social medias we needed to find our cover photo. Instead of finding a cover photo in fact we got together and made a cover photo over FaceTime. We decided that it would be best for us to make a cover photo instead of getting one because we wanted to be as original as possible. Once we got our cover photo done, we made sure to send it to our teachers to make sure that it was as good as it could be, and they loved it. So, we got the cover photo done and put our title on it next it was time to make our social media pages. First up was Instagram which was the easiest because we knew how to use it and we knew how to create a new page for it. Then Twitter was next which was a little harder because neither of us had ever really used Twitter before, but we still figured it out. Then was YouTube which was harder than Twitter but not as hard as Facebook. Neither of us have ever used Facebook before and we started troubleshooting right as we got into it. When we went to go make our page, we thought it would be easy to just put our movie title as the name for the page, but with Facebook it was not that easy because you needed a real name for the page it needed to be a first name and a last name. What we did was put my first name and my partner's first name for The Facebook page. Then we had to create a new page in the movie section On Facebook for our movie and this is when everything started to go smooth again. Once we created all of our social media pages it was time to upload our cover photo. we believe that our cover photo matched our movie perfectly. Once we uploaded our cover photo it was time to start following all the other pages. We loved to be able to support all of our peers. It might have taken a while to follow everyone but it was well worth it. Especially because we got them to follow back. Now next time its the website see you next blog

filming with a hint of editing

as you know yesterday we took the time to go over what we needed to film and what. Here's a little backstory so you can remember what we are trying to film. "one that shows the lake behind my house and then moves quickly to the house then quickly to inside. The second one was in the morning with an upshot of the sky while birds fly past then swipes down to the door and rush through the door into the table room. The third bringing the same thing as the scene but at nighttime. There is a part where the scene comes in and it's the house in the nights and it zooms into the door and inside the house to show the girls at their table.  Then the next scene in the morning there's a part where it the morning. Then there's a shot of the bird flying through the sky then it fades from outside to inside where one character is yelling for the other to come downstairs" Let's just say to get all those perfect shots of the sky took absolutely forever. The one that took the most time was the one where we had to wait for birds to fly by, which didn't even end up happening. But for that scene, I think some editing will come in handy later. after all this filming we did have to again film at night. This was the harder part of filming. since it was nighttime there was no natural light. We had to decide on whether we wanted to use the street lights or use the flash from a phone or use a flashlight. Since the flash on the phone wasn't strong enough it only left the streetlight and the flashlight. The street light was difficult because there wasn't enough everywhere to properly have a lit shot. So finally we tried the flashlight and it still wasn't strong enough so now we still have to find some type of stronger portable light to use. We went through the footage and chose which scenes that we could use and which ones we couldn't. We still chose to film all of them though and we are still waiting on which one gets the part in the movie when we finish filming it all. Lastly, now that we have all the daytime scenes we just need the nighttime. But anyway this is kinda what we want to have on our scene to look like.

Filming the outside pieces

Last night and this morning we took then time to facetime and figure out exactly where and what we wanted to film for the outside parts. there was some disagreement but we worked it out just like good partners do. We had a disagreement about where we wanted to film the outside parts. For example, we had three locations and types of outside shots. Like the one that shows the lake behind my house and then moves quickly to the house then quickly to inside. Then there's a shot of the bird flying through the sky then it fades from outside to inside where one character is yelling for the other to come downstairs. This was all choices for the intros of the scenes and we couldn't pick the same ones. This was due to the fact that os many of them were good for the scene. The end of the situation was the fact that we film all the scenes and wait till we have filmed the rest of the clips to see which ones fit the best. Also, we will be filming them to see if the ideas translate into good shots. Being so that means that filming the rest of our film will need to happen asap. Most likely we will be filing the rest of our five minutes film in 2 or 3 weeks. This is all depending on if everything goes to plan. Finally, after tonight getting all the shots done and making sure we have all of the shots perfect we will be editing and clipping the shots tomorrow to make them all ready for adding to our film.

the starting of filimg

hello everyone!! this is the official start of getting the final project done. Before this, we went through the steps of finding film topics, planning, storyboarding, and finalizing the script. This blog will be all about getting ready to finally start shooting. Right now we are in the process of collecting props and getting backgrounds for our movies. By backgrounds, I mean places in our homes that would be a good place to film based on location and lighting. Lighting is gonna be super important for when we film because we have a whole bunch of parts that are supposed to be filmed at night. The biggest problem with this is that I and aniyah most likely won't be able to come together at night time to film. Both of our parents are super strict and don't allow sleepovers all the time. So we are finding places that look like its night time even when it's the day so it comes out good for the shots. For example, we have the first scene of the movie is in the late afternoon when it's dark outside. So we put our heads together to work out the angles that will help and what we can do for the windows. We are planning on covering the windows with blankets and using inside lighting to make it look like night. This will make it appear like nighttime and we will continue that for the rest of the scenes in the dark. But the only problem is when we have to film the night sky at the beginning. So we decided that it would be best if I would pre-film the morning and night outside scenes before we actually film. Corona has made it super hard for aniyah and me to meet so we have been really relying on facetime and texting to get our ideas across. This has made communication a little easier. Hopefully, this ends in time for our final filming session so everything is perfect. A rushed movie is what we are trying to avoid. That's all for now Ill see you guys tomorrow.

story board for short film

Welcome to my new blog. We are getting farther in the process of completing the final project. Finally, we have reached the storyboard process. I was very excited about this. I was excited because I love our plot for the project. I am excited to complete the story. I took the lead in writing and drawing the storyboard. While Aniyah helped in figuring out which shots and camera movements were appropriate for which scene. She and I figured out all the details of the story. This process was slightly different because of social distancing. Although it was difficult, we were still able to collaborate with each, thanks to new technology. We texted and talked on the phone in order to work together. Aniyah and I were very compatible with getting the story lined up and planning everything out. I am not surprised with our compatibility because we have worked together on other assignments. From those assignments we have had outstanding outcomes. This storyboard includes a variety of details regarding the story. The details include the shots, angles, movements. Also, it includes the dialogue and the actions carried out in the story. You will find there are many twists and turns in the story. The camera movements definitely play a part in certain suspenseful factors in the project. Thank you for reading!

Short Film vs. Feature Length Film

In this blog, I will be comparing and contrasting the very great 9 short film and the 9 featured film! The short film and the feature film have lots of stuff in common and also things not in common. The biggest thing they have in common is the characters, 5 and 9. But in the feature film, we were able to see more characters. Both had characters that had major developments. The short film had no dialogue which left a very open field for people to make a story to match the actions. But the actions in the movie in my opinion spoke more than any dialogue could. I feel like for a short film it was well put together and it was very easy to understand for not having any dialogue. In the feature film, there was dialogue, this added to the story. Since the feature was much longer there was more space for dialog and actions. The speech added more emotion and allowed viewers to get more attached by having us hang on every last word of the dying characters. I believe that the feature film accomplished making the story completely make sense telling how they got to that point and why. Although the short film was very well put together there were spaces where information was missing like, how did everyone die and what was happening in the world. In the end, it was a very close tie but I did enjoy the feature film more. I believe it was more attention-grabbing because of the dialogue. I was able to interpret the conversations and feel the emotions they felt. In the end, I was more connected to the feature film than the short. Both were very well out together and had great plots. Though the plots were very similar they were different in some places. This is because of the mass about of detail the feature film had.

Research 9, the feature film.

Hello everyone today is the day that I watched nine feature films for the first time. After watching the short film I was so excited to watch the featured film. Little did I know that I would love it even more than the short film. My first impression of this was how much I liked seeing him adventure to find the number 2. I loved watching him get his voice and seeing him speak for the first time. The beginning was 9 realizing he was alone and leaving the house to go outside and investigate 2. Things start to rise when he and five want to go look for 2. The climax of everything was when 2 died due to the robot spider dog. They made it their mission to kill all the robots. In the end, everyone was dead except for 9, 3,4, and 7. The director adding dialogue gave it even more of an emotional connection to each character. He made sure that we knew how every character died and their last words. This was what really got me in the movie, I don't really like when I have to watch characters I get attached to die. I think in this movie more than one character had a big development. The twins went from being anti-social to interacting. 7 went from working alone to working with others. 9 went from not trusting anyone to trusting the group. 1 went from being selfish to being selfless and giving his life instead of nines. As the characters developed they all got better at teamwork and in the end, this is what helped them defeat the robots. They saved the world and freed the souls of their friends in the end. Overall I really enjoyed this movie and it was one of the best movies I watch in a while extremely cute and I may or may have not teared up.

research 9 short

Hello everyone today I will be telling you about my first impression and thoughts about the short film 9. 9 is a 7-minute computer-animated short made in 2005 by Shane Acker.  My first impression of this short was that it was weird. I didn't get it and the fact that there were no words left me confused. But I watched it twice and took a break a let it sink in and it all clicked after the second time. I went through so many emotions with this little hacky sack looking thing. In the beginning, the 9 was in a memory of the last time he was with 5. Then things start to rise when the evil robot kills five. The climax was when 9 decided to take charge and get revenge for his whole family. He sets a trap and runs all around this place with the robot chasing him. Then in the end the robot thinks he cornered 9. This is where he was wrong and 9 pulled out one last trick and lifted the mattress that was holding the stick up which caused the robot to fall to its death. My favorite part about this whole film has to be the character development of 9. In the beginning, he is looking around a thing and ran when the robot came. He was scared and didn't know what to do besides run away and hide. By the end, he was stronger and smarted and he went to fight his demons. He didn't back down even when he was facing death. Once this ended he put the ball together and let his families spirits out. The director choosing to put no dialogue in the movie was truly a very broad choice. But I do think it was a very smart one. It was almost like the actions that happened played the story better than any conversation could. Overall this short was really great and i cant wait to watch 9 the movie.

My genre choice is......

The moment you have all been waiting for... we have come to the decision that we will be making an action movie! Although I was very close to picking sci-fi I really felt like action fit way better. with sci-fi, i could really explore and do a lot of cool things for the short film. But when it came down to it we didn't want to change our pitch because we really liked it. I was really drawn to this genre because of how much it could bring to the film. We can bring lots of different aspects to the film making it exciting and engaging. I was inspired to do an action movie from all the action movies I have been watching over the corona. This also won't be too much of a tweak from our original film pitch which is great. I hope this project is the best one we will ever do! i am beyond excited to get through this and make an amazing movie.

genre research action

Today I will be telling you about the genre action. I will first be telling you about the C.A.M.S of action. The common camera angles of action are high angle low angle, dutch. The Movements and shots are track, two shot, three-shot, pan, tilt. Editing used in action are action match, eye-line match, cutaway, shot reverse shot, jump cut. Finally, the sounds are diegetic sound, non-diegetic sound, dialogue, and voice over. The next thing I will be telling you about is C.L.A.M.P.S. C.L.A.M.P.S is costumes, lighting, makeup, props and scenery. Most of the time in action costumes are made to look like leather and high fashion but are made out of fabrics that make it easy to move around in and usually made for running in and action parts. The lighting in these films are usually outside lighting more close to the sun then regular studio lighting. The acting in these films is very emotionally filled, tears are common and anger is usually a very big impact on the actions of the characters. There's almost always some traumatic event that happens and causes this overload of emotion in a person like a loved one being killed and the person goes on a car chase to get the killer. The makeup in action movies is little to nothing. But There is special effect makeup done for the cuts and bruises on the actors. The common props that are in action movies are cars, guns, knives, and motorcycles. For the scenery, here's a lot of scenes on the road, outside, tops of buildings, and inside buildings. Some examples of this genre are fast and furious, endgame, greyhound. Some elements of the genres that I really likes are the stunts that happen like jumping off of a roof or racing cars. One thing that I don't like that is really common in action are when people die. Action movies in my opinion are the most attention-grabbing genres

genre research sci-fi

In this blog, I will be telling you about the research I have conducted on the genre sci-fi. I will be explaining the C.A.M.S first. The C (Camera angles) consist of two shot, low angle, mid-shot, aerial shot. Next up is movement and shots and these are track, zoom, tilt, long shot. Common edits are action match, eyeliner match, fade in, fade out. Finally sounds used in a sci-fi movie are diegetic sound, non-diegetic sound, dialogue, and voice over. The next acronym we will be discussing is C.L.A.M.P.S. This stands for costumes, lighting, acting, makeup, props, and setting. In sci-fi movies, t is a very wide range of costumes depending on the character. All in one movie there can be regular dressed people, superheroes, aliens, nd literally anything you could ever imagine. Lighting is also something that can have a very wide range. This can very easily go from led lights in a studio to the sun when filming outside. The acting in sci-fi movies is very over the top. They do and say things that you most likely wouldn't see in other type of movie. Like when would you ever here someone screaming there's a giant alien trying to eat them! Makeup is my favorite part of sci-fi movies. Unlike other movies you can get so creative with the makeup, Face painting gory makeup all the works then it can also be as simple as just regular everyday makeup. Some props that are commonly seen in these movies are cars, spaceships, swoards, weapons, and supernatural powers. Lastly some settings from these movies can be on different planets, space, inside and outside buildings, in the air, underground basically anywhere. The things I like about sci-fi is that it can be so many different things. Theres no limit to your imagination and you can make up the craziest ideas. But this is also something I don't like because you can do so many things it can be hard to make an original movie when so many have been done.

.Example films of sci-fi-the new mutant, the invisable man, dune.

genre research drama

The last genre i will be researching will be drama. Drama is a very weird genre. The way the movie is scripted and filmed can either make it or break it which is why not every drama movie is a home run. You know what time it is let's get through those C.A.M.S! A very common angle to film from is full body and eye level. This keeps the attention on the main characters and not the background. Some movements and shots used are a long shot, over the shoulder, two shot, three-shot, mid-shot, and close up. The editing for drama is action match, jump cut, split-screen. finally, for C.A.M.S, the sounds used are dietetic sound, non-diegetic sound, voice-over, and dialogue. Now let's get on with the C.L.A.M.P.S. .Costumes are something that really depends on the setting of the drama movies. For example, if it was about a highschool girl, they would be wearing uniforms or dress code-appropriate stuff. But if the setting was at a workplace it would be professional wear. There's a lot of crying and fighting in drama movies. There's also a lot of mushy-gushy love. The makeup in the drama is very minimal unless it has to do with maybe a bruised eye from a fight scene or a bloody nose. Some very common props in these movies are cars and phones. Although almost anything can be used as a prop in a drama movie. Drama movies typically take place in schools like highschool or in colleges. But movies with older cast members can take place at a workplace or a home. For me as I said before drama is a very make it or break it genre. What I like about drama is how much emotion goes into them and how some people can relate to the situations that are happening in them. This makes it great for someone to connect and engage with a character. The things I don't like about some drama movies are how they can be too emotional. Sometimes there's just too many tears and the audience can get really bored or overwhelmed with how much emotion there is.

   Examples of drama movies-

godfather,titanic, lord of the rings.

PITCH BLOG

Hey everyone its stephanie. Today is the official start of the project. Stephanie and I have been coming up with ideas for a couple days. We have combined our ideas and we came to a conclusion that the main genre of our short film is going to be a drama. Also, we concluded that I will present to you in this blog. We did some research on the drama, to know what elements to include. After that we let our creativity flow. Also, some action  Our pitch is:

  • A nosy reporter discovers the secret to immortality, but a battle occurs when the government wants to keep it a secret and things get messy.

Audience and Institution Practice Essay.

Question: How does funding impact media products?

For my essay I will be discussing the impact of funding on media products.                                     Many popular movies made recently consist of huge budgets and big-time movie actors. Most of the time millions of dollars go into making the movies. But the spending isn’t just for the production or the actors it is also for promoting the movie. Whether a movie does good or not all depends on the budget provided by the companies.

I would like to start this paragraph of- by analyzing the movie fast and furious 7. It was made by Universal Pictures in 2014.This movie was given a budget of 190 million USD .They made merchandise such as T shirts, water bottles, hats and posters. The main characters in the movies were also put on vibe magazine. Which not only promoting the movie but also promoted the actors. There was even a video game made for the movie. Paul Walker had died in the making of the movie so they had to use expensive CGI effects so they could finish the movie with out him. Without the budget that they had they might have not been able to finish the movie because of the fact that Paul Walker had died .But because they had such a large budget and could spend money on expensive CGI effects they were able to continue the process of making the movie without the late Paul Walker . The movie ended up having a gross revenue of 1.5 billion US dollars.

For my second example I would like to bring up the movie Spiderman homecoming. This movie was distributed by Sony Pictures and produced by Columbia pictures and Marvel Studios. The budget for Spiderman homecoming was 175 million US dollars. The movie had cross productions such as selling toys At Target and even coming out with the soundtrack. They put the movies on kids cereal boxes like cinnamon toast crunch and also had posters and merchandise distributed .Because humans can't actually fly a lot of money went in to making the effects of Spiderman jumping from building to building. Without the money this film would not be as realistic as it was and not as highly anticipated from promotion while bringing 808 million dollars in gross revenue.

My third example will be Jurassic World. This movie was distributed by Universal Studios In 2015. The budget for this movie was 150 million US dollars. They use this money to make the dinosaurs realistic and create a better movie. They distributed promotion for the movie through posters video games and toys like legos. They even had snacks promoting the movie like Mike and ikes and their very own Blizzard flavor at Dairy Queen. Because of the budget they received they were able to win an awards in 2015 for visual effects of the year. Jurassic World became the third largest grossing movie of all time with making 1.6 these Seven billion US dollars in the box office .

My final example will be beauty and the beast produced by Walt Disney pictures on March 17th 2017. They were given a budget of 20,000,000 US dollars for the first beauty and the beast movie ever made. The 2017 beauty and the beast movie was given a budget of 254 million dollars making it the most expensive musical to ever be produced . They promoted this movie by making posters, dolls , costumes, ornaments , T shirts , stickers , jewelry. this movie ended up bringing 1.26 billion dollars back into the pockets of the producers .

In conclusion funding of a movie can be the determining factor of how well the movie does. When there is a lot of money put into a movie for the actors, actresses, CGI effects, and voice actors the movies tend to do better in the market. The Film industry is tough and without the right budget a movie can really flop. In the end movies that have more money do better and movie that have a smaller budget do worse. Lastly, this is why funding has such a big impact on media products.

The third filming expirence:The movie

Today I will be telling you about the last AICE media project we had this year. It's sad to know that this could be the last group project I ever do with my girls. The best thing about this year was growing a relationship with anyiah and lily. They were the best partners I could ever ask for and they worked just as hard as I did. They were there to help every step of the way and I'm so glad that they were my partners the whole year. We started this project off with planning for absolutely everything. We took two weeks just to get our ideas. Then another week to plan the storyboard. Then it was time for planning props and costumes. We really took all the time we could possibly get for this project because we wanted it to be perfect. We all worked really hard on this project because we wanted to pass the test. We finished all the filming and now we wanted to get a date and time. Once we had our finished plans we set a date and went on our way. We met up at lilys house with anyiah and our friend Paige. This time we took the time to pack our camera and sd card and tripod and test everything to make sure we were ready. Then we took the time to make sure all of the people we invited were set to come. We started filming in lilys house and while we filmed scenes that had me,lily and her mom. Then while we were doing that anyiah and paige held the camera and fixed the lighting. We got to the mall and we were set to film. When we got to the mall we first filmed in the Macys and we got permission to film. Then we moved to the forever 21 and filmed there. We had to wait a while for people to clear out because we didn't want anyone to be in the background. Then we got back home finished filming the homes scenes and then we started editing and going through the shots. That's when aniyah filmed the noises and found the background noises. Then we finished editing and complete the project. This was one of the best projects we ever had and we loved making it too.

Second filming expirence: The music video

Hello everyone today I will be taking you through the second project I was apart of in AICE media. This project was about a music video. My partners and I went through multiple stages of choosing songs and looking for ideas. It took a while and even a whole project restart. WE restarted the project because we didn't like our original idea or the song anymore. So we picked a new song and a new theme and we got on our way to filming. We planned to do the music video to the song from the movie teen beach. The song was called surfs crazy it was a fun and groovy song and we loved it. We thought it was a perfect song to dance and sing along too. We planned a perfect day at the beach with props and friends and the camera and the trip. The day had finally come where we were going to the beach and things went wrong really fast. This time we were so busy making sure our equipment was ready and that we had a backup plan for if it rained or if there were too many people, but we did not plan for the disaster ahead. We forgot to double-check to make sure everyone was able to come and bring the props they were in charge of. We had about ten people in the beginning and they were all supposed to bring props and food and lily and I were in charge of the camera and the tripod. First, it was our partner anyiah that had canceled because she no longer had a ride but that was oke. But by the time we got to the beach so many people had canceled, it was just Lily and me. We made the best of what we had which was just a camera and a tripod. We got to learn some dance moves and got to singing and we finished filming. NOw that we had finished we had the sd card and got to editing on iMovie. This project was better than the last but not as good as the next.

First filming expirence: The commercial

Hello, everyone, as you know the school year, has been put online and I'm going to be showing you my progress through the year. This year I have taken part in many media projects and have absolutely loved all of them. The first project I will be taking you through is the first project I ever filmed edited and helped produce. Thought this one was a rough start and a rough project as a whole I ended up liking the complete commercial. So ill start you off with our storyboarding and planning. It went smoothly and we took our time to make back up plans for the weather for our background for the scenes. We finished all of our planning and scheduling and we were on our way to film for the first time. We got our checklist and we were on the way we picked up our camera, tripod and sd card. We walked all the way to our spot to film and it was perfect. We got the right spot and perfect lighting and we were just about done setting up. This is when things started going down hill. We are about to put the camera on the tripod and this is where it went wrong for the first time. The piece to connect the camera to the tripod wasn't in the bag. So we pack up the stuff and bring everything back to the class and get a new bag and this time we checked it before we left. When we got back to the spot it was less sunny and someone was filming in our spot. But we asked them and they were almost done so we start setting up again and we finally get the camera on and it only had 20 minutes of battery left. By the time we got back and finally got the right spot and the right tripod and the right camera we only had 15 minutes to film. We didn't finish what we were filming and we only had 45 minutes the next day. This time we made sure we checked everything and got all the filming done. We edited and found out it was hard to edit with pinnacle and we couldn't even find our right sd card this point. Turn out someone else had also filmed on it and was using it. So now that we finally got all of our films and started editing we had to switch to imovie because it worked better for us. We finished editing and now we could turn it in. NOw we had looked at our grade and we got a 90% not our best try but it was a good start.

film blog: whats gonna happen?

Hello everyone, this is the last filming blog I will be doing for a while so let's make it the best. As I told you before we are under quarantine by our parents and are not allowed to leave our houses. We were supposed to get together to film our ccr and complete this project. A lot of things are getting in the way of us finishing this project and it's getting harder and harder to complete it. Since we have no way of coming together to make this ccr final easy for us we had to put our heads together and think of a way to complete it with everyone playing an equal part in it. We all sat and texted for a bit trying our different ideas but most of them all ended in someone doing more than the other. Or all of us having to do it separated and that wasn't working either. THis ccr is different from the others we have done in the past. We have done powerpoints and blogs ccr but we have never done a filming style before. We have chosen to do it like a talk show. Making as if we were called on to a show like the tonight show with jimmy falon and he was asking us questions about our new an dup coming film. The only bad part is that we can't be together and we won't have common backgrounds because not all of us have the same painted color walls in our house. But we will try to get at least neutral colors in the background. So our idea is we all get on facetime and answer the questions altogether making sure that the response to the questions is at least 4 minutes. Then after wards, we choose who wants to talk about the questions. And finnally becayse there is only three of us whoever has the least amount of time on there part of the question will do the final 4th questions. Then we willl get back on facetime and edit them together.

editting blog; the world is under attack we cant be together

Good afternoon everyone. As of today, the world we live in is being attacked by this virus that is corrupting humans as we speak. All of us knew that the virus was bad but I don't think anyone anticipated it being this bad. We were about to end the third quarter when we were uprooted from school and had to be on early leave. Though most found this break an advantage to have fun I did not. I was more worried in fact than anything. The students didn't take the time to realize that something has to be extremely worrisome to cancel schools almost worldwide. This is going to really affect the way we could get together and go over our films and blog together. Also, this virus will directly affect the films that are currently being shot all over the world. It's crazy to think that this world has gone to mess so quick. Everything just stopped. People completely being irrational buying 18 tons of milk and 100 rolls of toilet paper and napkins. I think it's ridiculous that people lose their state of mind in an emergency. The worst thing to do in an emergency state it to freak out and go crazy. AT first, I forgot to go by this rule and it is what saved me from getting an f. I and many of my friends are on house lockdown due to the virus and our parents. I was going crazy thinking about how I was gonna get an f. How we weren't gonna be able to do the ccr. All because we weren't together and could be together. But then it hit me, we live in a day and age where everything is digital and we could make anything work as long as we tried our hardest. So e all went through the reflection question and currently, we are coming up with our answers as I'm writing this. I'll tell you the rest in the next blog see you later.

Re-editing

Hello, everyone, I hope your day was well. As you know it is time for re-editing and finishing the film up. From what I told you last time we took the time to go over all of the films and cut it up piece by piece. I can say that it probably the best idea that our group has ever come up with. Using smaller pieces to edit was simpler. Basically, in the beginning, we took all the videos and put them together and just kinda merged them. Obviously, that leads to some very choppy bits. That's not very smart of us and I couldn't believe that we didn't think of it before that happened. I'm glad that we caught our mistakes the second time around. Its so hard to catch our own mistakes when you want your film to be the best. But we stuck to it and really went hard on ourselves to find our mistakes and become even better. The first thing we did was go clip by clip. We even went as far as going through all of our shots again. We ddint end up picking any new shots because we thought that the ones that we picked were the best ones. Since we got the best shots picked we put in one at a time. So we started off with the opening scene and first established the title that was gonna be on it. Then we cut out the sound and so you couldn't hear the loud background. Then we took the time to cut off the extra from the start of the video. Then we would watch over and over a couple times to make sure it was the right speed. Once we slowed down and made the video faster we would watch it again. Then finally we cut the extra end off and watch it one last time. Once it was to our liking we would go to the next clip. We pretty much followed all the steps for each clip. But for some of them, we had to add music or even add background sound. Then in some cases, we didn't have to cut the sound. But most of the time we had to make the clips really fast to fit into the 2 minutes

re-filming Lets hope for the best

hey, world, so last week as you know we finished getting peer-reviewed and it went really well. The person who reviewed us and they didn't have any complaints about our film having to do with the way we filmed. In fact, they didn't really say anything about our film being bad. I wish we could have had a lot more people review our film because we would have many different opinions of our film. I had trouble as so did anyiah and lily critiquing our own film. We want our film to be the best but it is hard to not be biased whne you are the maker of your own project. So we really sat down and went through the film piece by piece. We started going through each type of angle that came up and decided whether or nt we wanted to re-film or re-edit. In all honest,y i had to pretend that our film was someone elses to get the best critisism i could get. We infact got oneof our other friends from the class to watch the film piece by pice with us so she could keep us on th right path of beiung objective.
I guess this leaves this blog to say that we will not be doing any re-filimg because we think the shots we got in captured our ideas perfectly. The sound and the angles and the movements were great and dont need to be fixed.  So we sat and went over the film for the whole class. We all wrote down notes. Then we shared them with eachother. It was the best way we could get to the conclusion of what needed to be re-filmed or re-edited. Once we all read out loud we took a vote on what we all thought needed the most work. The biggest descion that came out of this was the fact that we all agreed we didnt need to re-film anything. That was something we agreed with our peer editor. What we didnt agree with was that the film wasnt choppy. We all agreed that there needed to be some serious changes to the editing for it to go smoothly. That led us to get all the shots togther and figure out how we want to proceed editng better. I will keep you updated with more editing an filming blogs.

peer reveiw

We have come a long way in this filming process. we have come to the point of peer review now that we have finished our first filming and editing session we have to give our film to someone random and have them review it. Then we got someone random to review. We got group ten which was all girls. They seemed really nice and excited about their film. I ask myself as a filmmaker what was it that I really enjoyed watching this film. By farIi have to say it was the acting. I don't know these girls personally but they sure can act. The crying, in the beginning, was so good and pulled me in. It wasn't too over the top where it was cringy to watch. Yet it wasn't too lazy to the point where I lost interest it was perfect and created an overall better starting. It personally made me more interested in watching to see more. I very much enjoyed the acting skills of these girls and hope that they can fix some of the mistakes they made to make it better.
Though the acting was great and pulled me in it was a little hard to follow at first. After she cries it is hard to figure out what exactly is going on and what happened to make her cry. From my group's understanding, she killed a close friend and was crying because she felt guilty. We assumed that the rest of the film was her mind going through memoried made with the person she killed. However, assuming this I couldn't figure out whether it was the husband or the best friend she killed. It took us a while to figure out that the rest of the film was her memories but we caught on after the fifth or sixth time watching. Along with watching this many times, we saw some angles and shots that weren't incorporated that could have made some of the scenes better than they were. Below is the sheet that I wrote out for the peer review.

editing blog: getting the titles done

Many of you might not know but I enjoy editing and producing movies.
When I was little I liked to make movies with dolls and edit them to make their own little movies. On Tuesday night I took the time to sit down and figure out how I wanted the last title slide to be. I wanted to get ahead start on it so next weekend it wouldn't be all cramped up between filming and editing the whole movie. I liked where I had gotten last time with the idea with the newspaper but I don't know if i want to make it like that anymore. I got some paper and put it down and drew out some logos i thought could be cool. So i ended up sticking to the newspaper idea. It went in the intro the smoothest and worked out the. Best. I have been editing this cover page for about two days and the last thing I need to do is fix the pictures on the newspaper. I redid the newspaper about three times using different templates. i typed a different way of telling the story each time. IN the first one i summed it up in a pretty short paragraph. Then the second one i went into really fine detail but it ended up being to long and going off the page. im not done with the third one though. Even though really I only need to put the pictures in i am proabbaly going to edit the wording of the article. Im excited for this weekend its gonna be the last weekend of filming for us. Lily has spent the week getting her house and all the props ready for the shoot. And aniyah has been coming up with some more in depth shots to make th movies even better.

filming blog: getting the dates

Hello everyone. Yet another weekend where we couldn't get enough time together. I am quite stressed about the dates that the projects are due. It is Real hard to get together when all these other activities are going on. I have been so busy lately with doing other projects and getting my grades as high as possible. It has been a struggle to try to juggle it all. I want to get a good grade on this project though. I want the girls to get a good grade too. They also have a lot of stuff going on in there lives. Getting together gets pretty hard when we all live 30 minutes away from each other. But we did, however, get about two hours to film all the mall parts. We went to the mall and we asked some stores if we could film. We got turned down a couple of times but then we finally went to an h and m and they let us film in the store as long as we didn't get any other customers or make a mess. We couldn't get any of the customers on camera or disturb them. It was really hard because there were a lot of people in the store. we waited for a lot of time for people to go and even changed locations in the stores where fewer people were. We got some shots but most of them were very rushed and not very good sound. There was loud music in the store and babies crying in the back. The music would have been good if it was lower but it was much too loud to hear the girl talking. We didn't get any shots to put in the movie so we are gonna try a different mall next weekend and get the house shots at lilys.

filming blog; hard to get everyone together

Hey, world its Stephanie again. This is the first weekend we have gotten to have time to film and wouldn't have been a great one. The weekend started off nice and bright and perfect conditions to film. But as time past through Friday things started to change. The weather took a turn for the worst. It was gloomy and the sun was hidden behind dark rainy clouds. If only we could have had time Friday morning to start the filming process. I know you guys don't know this but since the school we go to is a magnet school we have the chance to come from all over Broward county to attend the school. Living so far apart makes it hard to come together often to film and work on projects. I live in planation, Lily lives in Hollywood, and I believe Aniyah lives in pompano. We live about 30 minutes away. However, I am kinda in the middle of both Aniyah and Lily. We although always make time for each other and come together and film. That's why we make such great partners we do anything for each other and help each other out when we need it. We will make time one of these three weekends to film. We always come together and when we do, we will make the best film we possibly can. I am kinda upset that we couldn't get together this weekend though. It is a long weekend in fact it is a five day weekend. We tried to get together but our schedules just weren't going together this weekend. We probably couldn't have filmed anything outside though because of the rain. But maybe we could have been able to film the parts that are inside. Anyways here is a picture of the sunset after it rained.
